Directions
Yeast:
Warm the milk to about 110 degrees F. Mixture should feel like a warm bath, not scorching hot. In a large bowl, add melted butter, warmed milk, sugar, and yeast. Stir together and set aside for about 10 minutes
Whisk the egg, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree together. Then add to yeast mixture.
Dough:
Combine the bread flour, salt, and pumpkin spice. Gradually add flour mixture to yeast and mix until dough begins to form. Knead the dough for 5 minutes on a floured surface or use a stand mixer with the dough hook and knead for 8 minutes.
Transfer dough ball to a lightly greased bowl and turn the dough around in the bowl so that it is fully coated. Cover with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rise for 1-1.5 hours or until doubles in size.
Filling:
While the dough is rising, combine all the ingredients (except butter) for the filling and set aside
After the dough has doubled in size, punch out the air and transfer to a lightly floured surface. Knead for a few minutes until smooth and if it it’s sticky, add a little more flour.
Roll the dough out into a 18x13 rectangle. Brush softened butter evenly on top. Sprinkle with filling mixture. Roll the dough tightly in a log shape. Using a sharp knife, cut into 12-15 pieces then arrange rolls into a lightly greased baking dish. Cover the rolls and allow them to rise for 30 mins - hour.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Bake for 25 minutes
Icing:
Using a mixer, beat together the cream cheese, butter, and maple syrup. Add confectioners sugar and pumpkin spice, and mix until smooth. Spread over warm rolls and enjoy!
